Los Chicos Muertos return to the Albion on the 13th Oct…
“The best band from St Albans since The Zombies” – Time Out
Trailer Trash Orchestra front-man Grae J. Wall also records and performs solo and with the moveable musical feast dubbed Los Chicos Muertos (usually made up from other Trailer Trash Orchestra compadres and/or special guests).
These outings mix up country, blues, folk and chanson with a particular penchant for murder ballads, caustic skiffle and bar room melancholy. Grae J regularly tours on the continent as well as being a stalwart of the UK Acoustica scene (previous band The Young Trash Lovers were the last ever act to perform at the legendary Bunjies Coffee House). Grae J. has performed at Glastonbury, Bestival and many other festivals including the legendary Strummerville Stage!
As an eternal troubadour Grae J’s songs are also often inspired by his road trips, with narratives set in the motels of Bakersfield, the bar-rooms of Berlin and the back-streets of Paris.
Grae J. has collaborated on stage and recording with Knox (The Vibrators) and Ed Tudorple.
The band have a brand new album “Quinze Petites Morts” due out in October!
Grae J and Los Chicos Muertos have shared the stage with inspirational characters including TV Smith, Patrik Fitzgerald, John Cooper Clarke, Hayseed Dixie and Jowe Head. As well as their Trashville releases Grae J has contributed tracks to a number of compilation albums including tributes to Kevin Coyne and a self produced tribute to Nikki Sudden.
Los Chicos Muertos have been described as “Calexico meets Tarantino” Hunter S. Thomson meets Jim Jarmusch might be more accurate.
